5 Tips For Writing Engaging Blogs in 2022
The year 2022 seems so far away, but in the online business world, it’s right around the corner. In order to keep up with all of the changes that will occur, you need to know how to write engaging blogs in the coming years. Check out these five tips for best writing blogs in 2022 and use them to update your current blog strategy before 2022 arrives.
1) Have an opinion on everything
The value of having a take on everything is twofold. First, it shows you are informed on a variety of topics—and who doesn’t want to read that? Secondly, by having an opinion on every topic under the sun, you become synonymous with being able to talk about any and everything. This is especially useful when it comes to guest-posting opportunities. If an editor or curator knows you have an opinion on every topic imaginable, they will think of you first for writing opportunities!
2) Know how to turn your opinions into stories
This is a big one. One of my favorite writing tips for beginners is that opinions don’t matter. Whether you think Barack Obama is a decent human being or not doesn’t matter. The only thing that matters is your readers believe your opinion matters, and that’s where narrative structure comes into play. Turn your opinion into a story by imagining you are telling someone about it, like we discussed before.
3) Make it personal
One of the best ways to make your writing more compelling is to make it personal. Readers are naturally interested in stories about people and products they can relate to, so tell a story about something that happened to you recently or illustrate your point with a relevant anecdote from your own life. This is an especially useful approach if you’re trying to write an opinion piece.
4) Go viral
In today’s noisy online world, getting noticed for your content can be a challenge. A great way to stand out is by going viral. The best blogs usually make readers think or laugh, and many include both. When you create content that elicits an emotional response, it’s more likely to be shared.
5) Use Pinterest
Before you start to write, think about where your audience is most active. If they’re visual learners and most likely to read your articles on Pinterest, take advantage of that fact and write so that it’s easy for them to digest. If they’re more likely to watch a video or listen while they drive or work out, create content that speaks their language—video or podcast instead of text. A quick Google search will tell you what kinds of images tend to do well with different audiences.
